Deploying apps in openshift

DevOps

After you’ve set up openshift with a node or two, deploying an application is as easy as it gets.

You can do lots of stuff in the broker console, but rhc is the way to go:

rhc is a rubygem installed like all others:

Show code
~$ gem install rhc

To set it up:

Show code
~$ rhc setup --server your-broker-01.example.com

In the following example I deployed a wordpress installation which I exoticly named “mywordpress”, running on php-5.4 and mysql-5.5, using the the example source from github.

As you probably noticed, openshift did all the dirtywork: created a gitrepo, added dns, created a mysql database with a user and password. And deleted everything when done.

All you can ask for :)
